Khmer Noodle popular food in Cambodia

On around the world, there are different foods depend on area. When visitors travel to Cambodia, they will see​ a lot of food that they never see. In Cambodia, they have a food that called Nom Banh Chok in Khmer language and Khmer noodle in English language.  There are many locals people start their day with Nom Banh Chok that it is very a popular in Cambodia. It combined of Khmer rice noodles topped with green fish gravy and lots of fresh vegetables including cucumbers, green beans, mint leaves, banana blossom and bean sprouts.

The way to make Khmer Noodle need to take long time and arduous, although appreciated by every household in rural Cambodia. The rice soaked with the water until soft and then grind with a heavy stone mill (currently, they grind with machine). When they grind ready, wet dough is placed into a large cloth bag then place heavy stone to squeeze out excess water. After dough is enough soft, they combine in a piece and drop into hot water. After piece of dough boiled water, they take it to collide with the mortar​ to convert this dough to thick soft dough. Then they put thick soft dough into tree equipment that it has small hollow to make noodle line and they squeeze with tree stump into boil water. When noodle line float from boil water, they extract and put it on a banana leaf-lined.

Then they need to find fish to make food to combine with Khmer noodle that they make before. One more thing, they need to find some vegetables such as cucumbers, green beans, mint leaves, banana blossom and bean sprouts. When they make and combine ready, they can enjoy with Khmer noodle deliciously. This is a food in Cambodia that all visitors need to test when they visit Angkor Wat of Cambodia.

Most of people in the Cambodia like to eat Khmer Noodle or Nom Banh Chok because it is a popular of food for Cambodian and it is a food that they can identify belong of Cambodia.
